Mario Rosenstock

Mario Rosenstock is the creator of Gift Grub which first burst onto our radios in 1999 when he began a series of sketches, parodies and impersonations on Today FM's Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show. The initial idea featured 'Bertie' as a celebrity cook ingratiating himself with various 'glitterati' in a crude attempt to win votes, while simultaneously preparing a tasty snack - hence the 'Gift Grub'. Other characters began to appear through Bertie's various exploits winning the Lotto, singing with Andrea Bocelli, eating space cakes in a 'coffee shop' in Amsterdam and learning kung fu from Jackie Chan. The long list of classic Gift Grub characters now includes Roy (Keane), Keith Duffy, Ronan (Keating), Daniel (O'Donnell), Hector, Joe Duffy, Jose Mourinho, Stan (Staunton) and Paul O'Connell.

So popular was Mario's portrayal of Jose Mourinho singing 'Jose And His Amazing Technicolor Overcoat' that 'The Special One' invited Mario to perform a private show for the entire Chelsea squad! The song was subsequently released, with Mourinho's blessing, as a hit single. Similarly in December 2005, a parody of Will Young's song 'Leave Right Now' relating to the events surrounding Roy Keane's dismissal from Manchester United was released as a charity single and went straight in at the number one position on the Irish Christmas charts.

Gift Grub has quickly become a national phenomenon with an array of best-selling albums.

With an array of classic characters including Ronan, Roy, Daniel and Joe, with new characters including Jeremy Clarkson and the reporters from Fox News, Mario Rosenstock is sure to entertain your crowd.
