Hector O hEochagain first appeared on our tv screens back in 1996 on the brand new Irish language channel TnaG, and from that moment on he has become one of Irelands most popular broadcasters, his candid irreverent style has wowed legions of fans in the process through his many varied and multilingual shows. His hit Irish language shows AMU and HECTOR SAN..., which has brought Hector to almost 100 worldwide locations, has been voted the No 1 Entertainment show on the channel and this popularity was vindicated when Hector scooped no less than 4 Irish Film & Television Awards (IFTAS), a feat which for one style of programme is an outstanding achievement in itself.
Hector then created one of RTE televisions biggest successes when he devised and filmed the reality soap opera ONLY FOOLS BUY HORSES, along with a willing owner and eager trainer, the show followed Hector on his unique journey into the world of race horse ownership. The show was an instant nationwide success and was also broadcast on over 15 countries worldwide.
Hector then teamed up with Apres Match star Ristard Cooper to follow the British and Irish lions Tour of New Zealand in 2005, in a highly original and exceptionally funny documentary CHASING THE LIONS catapulted Hector into more and more sitting rooms around the country and earned television award nominations and hoardes of new fans in the process. CHASING THE BLUES became the sequel in another RTE primetime show following the rugby exploits of the Irish team in the World Cup of 2007 in France.
Over the last 12 months Hector and his best friend and schoolmate, award winning comedian Tommy Tiernan, have teamed up together on a brand new radio show.
"A decadent delight" - Sunday Independent
"The surreal tangents that the pair take the radio show down must be heard to be believed, the games and audience participation could only be conceived by a pair of nut jobs delightfully as bonkers as Tommy and Hector" **** - Irish Independent
